BPM Player

Teach the whole class on one tempo.

Drop your playlist, type the tempo your students can dance to today, and every song plays at it, in its original key. Next week, type a faster one.

The problem.

Your students learn the pattern at 88 BPM. The songs you love for it run at 96, 104 and 112. So you pick slower songs you like less, or you pitch a song down and the singer sounds drunk, or you let them struggle at full speed.

How it goes

01

Drop the class playlist on the window. Each song brings the BPM from its tags, or the app detects one.

02

Type today’s tempo, for example 88.

03

Play. Every song runs at 88, in its own key. Next song, same pulse.

04

Next week, type 94. Same songs, a little faster.

The target stays where you put it. Today it’s 88 — next week it might be 94.

Questions

Does slowing down change the key?

No. Tempo and pitch are separate. A song slowed from 104 to 88 stays in its key.

Can I use it at a social or a milonga?

It’s made for class and practice. Many dancers and DJs don’t want stretched music on a social floor, and they have a point.

Where does a song’s tempo come from?

From the BPM in the file’s tags. Untagged songs get a detected value marked ~. If it’s double or half, ÷2 / ×2 fixes it.

Is it really free?

Yes. No account, no sign-up. The download button goes straight to the app.
